The Gilgandra Region is the perfect location to stop, visit, explore and stay! No matter your budget or camping and caravanning set up, there is an accommodation option to suit.

Our Caravan Parks

Looking to stay in comfort? Whether you're seeking the ultimate unpowered site, powered site or cabin check out the fantastic options available at our local caravan parks.

Overnight Parking

Are you fully self-contained? You can park up for the night in one of these unpowered locations: 

  • Fully self-contained RV's caravan's or van's can book to stay at the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct Overnight Parking area for up to 48hrs. Permits required: click here to get a permit
  • Overnight parking at Gilgandra Sporties Bowling Club. Toilets available on site however toilets are closed after hours. Dogs are permitted. Show your support by having a meal or drink at the club.
  • The Railway Hotel offers overnight parking for patrons and are pet friendly.
  • The Royal Hotel. You'll have access to toilets inside the pub as you enjoy a counter meal and cold beverage as well as being centrally located within the CBD.
  • Armatree Hotel is a great place to pull into as you're heading East to the Warrumbungles or Coonamble Region. This iconic hotel is located 25 minutes from Gilgandra and offers powered and unpowered sites for overnight parking.

Camping

The Gilgandra Region features one of natures most outstanding landscapes in the Warrumbungle National Park. Warrumbungle National Park is Australia's only Dark Sky Park making it a prime location for star gazing and open air camping. Camping is the best way to immerse yourself in the Warrumbungles with several camp sites established throughout the national park. Most have toilets and BBQ facilities. Tooraweenah lies about a 10 minute drive, just south of the Warrumbungles with its scenic rocky spires and gorges and a large variety of wildlife. There are several well marked easy walking tracks, and hikes to suit all levels of adventure.

OUR AMENITIES

RV & Caravan Parking:

There is a designated caravan/RV parking area behind our main street (Miller Street) providing easy access to our main street boutiques, IGA, pharmacy and other shops. To access this parking area, turn onto Bridge St from Miller St towards the river (down the side of Mitre 10).

Potable Water:

Gilgandra offers potable water access at the RV parking space behind Miller Street (see above) and from a standpipe on Hargraves Lane. Access to the RV water (tap) is 24 hours. Access to the standpipe is by appointment only. Call Council on (02) 6817 8800 to book.
