Ian Scott Exhibition

Details

Join us at the Gilgandra Art Gallery inside the Coo-ee Heritage & Visitor Information Centre to explore Ian Scott's art exhibition!

Ian was born in 1944 and grew up in Narromine. He graduated as a vet in 1968 and in his early years, worked in Dubbo, Narromine, Coonabarabran and Cowra. The resulting frequent journeys along the Newell Highway stimulated Ian's interest in the towns, farm buildings, and landscapes across the region. Ian later worked in other places across Australia and overseas, including Britain and Canada, ending up on the South Coast in Nowra. Ian still has a nostalgia for the landscapes of Central NSW which is depicted in his artwork.

The bronze sculptures are the result of completing a foundry course at Wollongong TAFE after Ian retired. These, amongst places, have been exhibited with the Sculptors Society, Sculpture by the Sea, the Tom Bass Sculpture Prize, Sculptures in the Garden in Mudgee, and regularly at the Royal Easter Show.

The exhibition is on display from Monday, 15 January to Sunday, 25 February 2024.
