As part of National Volunteer Week, held 19-25 May, Gilgandra Shire Council (GSC) is excited to invite our #LocalLegend volunteers and community groups to host an information stall and join us for a special morning tea in celebration of the incredible contributions volunteers make to our community every day. We encourage those interested in volunteering to come along to the celebration, and chat with these invaluable pillars of our community to find out more and learn how you can get involved.
As part of GSC’s 2025 Volunteer Campaign –‘Give Back in Gil!’– the event will serve as an opportunity to celebrate our volunteers in the community whilst promoting local volunteerism to the wider Region with the aim of getting more locals involved. National Volunteer Week 2025 celebrates the power of volunteering to bring people together with the theme ‘Connecting Communities’. This year, we are excited to celebrate the spirit of connection and the incredible impact our local volunteers and community groups have in building inclusive and thriving communities like Gilgandra.
To RSVP, please contact GSC by COB Friday, 9 May 2025 by emailing either enjoy@gilgandra.nsw.gov.au or phoning (02) 6817 8800. We hope that you will join us in celebrating the people who make our community stronger, kinder, and more connected.
If you are interested in volunteering for one or more of GSC’s services, please visit GSC's website to find out more or register your interest.
